Moonframe Woodworks

Pieces with Purpose

We use or repurpose old growth, urban salvaged, and river-recovered timbers to make pieces with purpose and function

Our Story

Moonframe Woodworks started as a personal passion more than 25 years ago and now builds in both the San Francisco Bay Area and the Northern New Jersey Area. Building new furniture and restoring vintage furniture is what drives us. Over the last decade we have explored new styles in the making such as live edge tables, including river tables, with a focus on book-matching and Nakashima aesthetics.

Our Philosophy

The goal is to always use or repurpose old growth, urban salvaged, and river-recovered timbers. Making pieces with purpose that are also functional lies at the core of Moonframe Woodworking, such as tables, benches and cabinets.

Testimonials

“We are thrilled with our outdoor patio table for 12.  The table incorporates a sturdy trestle design and a frame and panel top with a beautiful and durable finish that brings out all the colors and features of the western red cedar. Lots of compliments from our guests.”)

“The quality of Joe’s craftsmanship is superb. He built a magnificent mission style blanket chest for me, with incredible attention to detail. He was easy to work with and asked for my input on decisions along the way. Couldn’t be more pleased with the final result, a true  heirloom piece for my family to enjoy for years to come.” — Emily H.

“Haha! HeeHee! It is I, Mergatroid the wooden elf. Let’s just say a few decades in the elements hasn’t been the greatest for my complexion and I was sure that I could kiss my youthful glow goodbye forever… That was, until I checked in for an extended spa stay with the folks over at Moonframe Woodworks. Wouldn’t you know it, I feel like a whole new elf. While my paint dried and wood filler cured, I passed my time with some reading (even though I just work the door, I do enjoy a good book, you know).” —Mergatroid, Green Apple Books
